About This Video

In this video I give my final update on my “iPad as my main PC” experiment—basically trying to move my entire creator workflow off my Windows workstation and onto an iPad Pro. I needed it to handle native GH5 4K editing, thumbnail creation, photo manipulation, and then actually uploading to YouTube like I normally do (scheduled Wednesday uploads at 2pm with my prefilled description workflow). I also wanted file transfers and organization between my main computer and the iPad to be simple and non-intrusive. The iPad surprised me in a good way for a lot of the creative stuff. LumaFusion is genuinely a dream to edit in—honestly smoother and more enjoyable than Premiere on my $2,000 workstation in a lot of ways—and Affinity Photo felt super intuitive with the Apple Pencil for quick photo work. Where the whole “replace a computer” idea fell apart for me was file management and uploading. iOS is still restrictive, cloud workarounds (Drive/iCloud/Dropbox) aren’t how I want to live yet, and uploading through the YouTube app/Safari gave me weird issues like incorrect resolutions. So no, I’m not switching full-time—but I will absolutely keep the iPad around for simpler edits when I don’t feel like being stuck at my desk.
