About This Video

In this video I’m checking out the Fifine K037B wireless lav system—basically a super budget wireless mic setup that can feed audio straight into your camera. Fifine sent it out to me for free, but like always, all opinions are my own. I walk through what you actually get in the box (transmitter, receiver, two lavs, a headset mic, and a 1/4" to 3.5mm adapter), and I show how I got it working with my setup by running it through my Beachtek into my Panasonic GH5. Setup was honestly painless and pretty simple. The big question is: how does it sound? I use the K037B as the main mic for the video so you can hear it in a real-world scenario, and for under $30 it’s genuinely impressive. It’s not going to have the richer bass response or fancy noise handling I like in higher-end mics, but the audio is totally passable and the value is kind of ridiculous for a wireless system. I also do a live range test walking around my 2,000 sq ft townhouse, and I didn’t get a single cutout—definitely an improvement over the older K031 I reviewed before. I even test the included headset mic (not really my thing), but overall this is a solid cheap wireless lav or backup kit to keep in your bag.
