About This Video

Well hello there boys and girls—today I’m back messing with hobby stuff, and I’m taking a look at a super cheap pair of RUITOOL model nippers I stumbled on by accident while I was scrolling Amazon for some woodworking tools (I’ve got a doweling jig and a saw review coming later). These were sitting around that $15-ish price point (when I grabbed them it was like $15.99 with an extra 10–15% off), and since I’ve got nippers all over the freakin’ place, I figured why the hell not and put them on the table. I go over what you get in the box (plain packaging, a little manual, a wipe cloth, and the usual pleather case), then I check blade alignment under a bright light and do a quick real-world cut test on Bandai-style sprue. The blade is super thin—like thin thin—so it cuts pretty clean and flush, but you can see a little discoloration/pull mark in the center on thicker cuts. My takeaway: for the money, it’s a good deal as a plastic-only nipper, and honestly I’d buy two so you’ve got a backup for when you eventually nick the blade. I’d stay away from resin and harder/bootleg plastics with these, because I feel like if you push it hard enough you could bend that thin blade.
