About This Video

Well, hello boys and girls—and happy Fourth of July. In this one I’m giving you a quick shop update on a new wood display I just whipped out for a coworker/client. She’s the same one I made the square pegboard cases for, and she needed something for outdoor venues to hold her customizable pins and lanyards. Originally she wanted a solid backboard with hooks, but I still had pegboard left and she already had the pegs, so I talked her into using a pegboard panel instead. I built the frame out of pine and cedar (I had some really good cedar left), and I grooved the pegboard into the back so it’s captured and secure. I’m not going to lie—there is a little wiggle, and if it got hit really hard the glue could break loose, which is why I also added a couple screws. But this thing isn’t going to blow around at an outdoor setup, and it’s a perfect size for her pins (about 11x12 and roughly 17 inches tall—bigger than it looks on video). Stay tuned, because next I’m planning two double-sided free-floating panels, plus a removable rod and round base so she can either stand it up or hang it from her canopy depending on the venue.
