About This Video

Well, hello boys and girls—welcome back to the workshop. This one’s a straight-up shop update while I’m finally getting things closer to where I actually want them (and yes… trying to be organized lol). I’ve still got the pile of my brother-in-law’s crap taking up space, but in the meantime I’ve been putting in work—table saw’s dirty, which is a good thing—and I’ve got all the wood in for a big anniversary kitchen table build. It’s going to be a giant tabletop, about 50 inches wide, so I’m planning to do it in two sections and bring it together. The big change in this video is organization: I went back to a French cleat wall system like I had in my old place, but corrected some mistakes from last time. I’m setting things up so the jigs, sanders, sandpaper, doweling jig, pocket hole stuff, stains, and all the random shop gear actually live near what they’re used for. I also show the “dumbass move” workbench situation where I built a bench, loaded it up, and then realized I blocked my own access—so for now I’m keeping tools on rolling stands until I can reclaim space and build a bigger desk. On the dust side, I made a boom arm and I’m running a 30-foot hose (might grab another). I’ve been using a quiet DeWalt ultrasonic shop vac for basically everything, but I’ve got a real dust collector on the way with a 12-gallon bucket and pressure relief so it doesn’t try to collapse like the cheap separator bin I grabbed. Little by little, it’s starting to look like a real workshop instead of a dust collection of hoarding.
