In this video, I’m calling out the harsh reality of learning n8n in 2026: most people aren’t failing because they’re “not smart enough,” they’re failing because the marketing is completely inflated. You’ve seen the posts—“buy my community, become a millionaire,” “copy this workflow, make $10k in 30 days.” That sets insane expectations, and it pushes people to quit their job way too early. I share my own story from 2020 where I went freelance right after my electrical engineering degree and was so naive that I probably lost over $200,000 in career progression. Today freelancing is only ~30–40% of my income, and I still use these skills to get better full-time roles (including a recent 50% pay bump). Then I break down the four reasons people fail: (1) businesses don’t even know n8n exists, so you can’t sell “n8n” as the product—sell business outcomes; (2) tutorial-world is not production-world—no error handling, clean data, and prebuilt workflows don’t match messy client reality; (3) people binge advanced tutorials, collect JSONs, and join communities without actually building and debugging; and (4) client work fails without a real action plan—set goals for networking, LinkedIn, or Upwork, and don’t underquote projects.
