We cover the connector store (hundreds of apps), how to connect Gmail and Google Calendar step by step, tool permissions (read-only vs. write/delete, always allow vs. needs approval vs. blocked), and how to add a custom connector via MCP server URL. About This Video

If you’ve been using Claude Cowork and it feels like it’s only doing half the job, it’s usually because it is. By default, Claude is working blind—no email, no calendar, no Slack—so in this video I walk you through Claude Cowork connectors step by step, and how to control what they’re allowed to do. I show you the different places you can access connectors (right from the prompt screen via the plus icon, from Customize, and inside plugins), plus how the connector sections are organized (web connectors, desktop connectors like Claude in Chrome, and a “not connected” section for things you previously set up). Then we get practical: I demo browsing the connector store (hundreds of apps, sortable by popular/trending/new, and filterable by interactive/desktop/web), how to disconnect a connector, and how to connect Gmail from scratch in a few clicks. The big takeaway is permissions—read-only vs write/delete—and the three modes: always allow, needs approval, or blocked. Finally, I show how to add a custom connector using an MCP server URL (and OAuth client ID/secret if needed), then do a live Gmail prompt where Claude checks a real email thread and cites the source. We wrap by connecting Google Calendar just as fast.
