In this video, I walk you through all three capabilities and explain why this could dramatically reduce the need for third-party tools like Perplexity or Tavily when building AI agents. First, I test the web research feature with real-time queries from today's news, including Good Charlotte's tour announcement and Jeff Kent's Baseball Hall of Fame induction. The results are impressively up-to-date, pulling information from just hours before. I also show you how to customize search parameters like context size, filter by specific domains like ESPN.com, and restrict results to particular cities or regions—perfect for localized business research or competitive intelligence. Next, I demonstrate the file search tool, which acts as a simple RAG system without requiring you to build a complex vector database pipeline. I upload an ultramarathon training guide and show how quickly you can create a vector store through the OpenAI API, then query it for specific training recommendations. While there are cost considerations for larger datasets, this approach is incredibly fast to implement. Finally, I explore the code interpreter feature, which writes and executes Python code to analyze data, clean CSV files, and generate downloadable results. This is particularly useful for data analysis tasks that would normally require custom scripting. By the end of this video, you'll understand exactly how to implement each feature in n8n, when to use them, and how they compare to building custom solutions. Whether you're doing web research, document analysis, or data processing, the Responses API might be the fastest path to production-ready AI agents.
