About This Video

Every time I opened Claude, it felt like starting from zero—no memory of what we did last week, no context, and I’m stuck re-explaining the same workflow over and over. In this tutorial, I walk through Claude Cowork’s new Projects feature, which fixes that by giving you a dedicated workspace with persistent memory, custom instructions, and scheduled tasks—all scoped to one project. We’re doing it step-by-step inside Claude Desktop, including the exact UI path (which is honestly a bit hidden right now), and the settings that actually matter. I demo a “Weekly Sales Reporting” project: naming the project, writing instructions (what Claude should always do vs never do), adding files, choosing the project location on your computer, and confirming that memory is on by default. Then I show the new Project UI: where instructions live, how scheduled tasks now sit inside the project (and the big gotcha: your computer has to be on), and how memory gets saved into a real file you can view on disk. Finally, I compare Projects vs just selecting a folder—same chat experience, but you lose the project-specific UI like schedules and memory management—and I show the current workaround for getting back into projects via search/history until Claude updates the sidebar UI.
