The data analyst role is changing fast, and I’m telling you straight up: the analysts pulling ahead aren’t the ones grinding more SQL or Python hours. They’re the ones using AI to do in 5 minutes what used to take 5 hours. I’ve been in this space for years, and I’ve never seen a tool change how much I actually work as fast as Claude Code did—so in this video I walk through 10 real workflows I’m using as a data analyst, end-to-end, inside VS Code. We start with the stuff that eats your week: cleaning messy CSVs (multiple date formats, casing issues, duplicates, missing values), then move into spreadsheet analysis with pandas-style group-bys and pivot tables without you needing to be a pandas wizard. From there, I use Claude Code as a second set of eyes for automated data QA before meetings—flagging outliers, negative revenue, wrong-quarter dates, and missing fields (and yes, I show why you still need to double-check and reprompt). Then we merge data across CRM + billing + marketing even when keys don’t match, standardize contact data with regex (because I hate writing regex by hand), and finish with SQL debugging + optimization, plus turning analysis into internal tools like dashboards and Streamlit apps. The big takeaway: this is the skill gap opening up right now in data—people who can pair real analysis with AI workflows are going to move way faster.
