Today, we're doing a layman's comparison of the ASUS ProArt 6K Display to Apple's Pro Display XDR. They say comparison is the theft of joy, so in today's video, we're stealing all of the joy of using the Asus ProArt 6K Display by comparing it to the Pro Display XDR. Seriously. In the next ten minutes or so, you're going to hear me sound incredibly spoiled, and maybe rightfully so, with me nitpicking at two expensive computer screens. Aside from this being the most expensive video I've ever made, to date, we're looking at the two displays' design, sizes, resolutions, brightness and HDR capabilities, contrast , color accuracy, connectivity, ergonomics, and price. Even though resolution isn’t everything, you get a good chunk of the Pro Display XDR‘s performance with this Asus 6K monitor, and even some things that the Pro Display doesn't have. That said, the XDR is still the top of the line, because there are things other than a 6K resolution that matter on a monitor. *UPDATE - see the re-review of the asus below:* ASUS ProArt 6K Re-Review https://youtu.be/IUTvdRpFZGs *Review* https://youtu.be/t-LO7mB7nwE https://youtu.be/q72taq2Fkj0 *ProArt 6K | PA32QCV* Amazon https://amzn.to/4nrRyIs B&H https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1908824-REG/asus_proart_display_pa32qcv_31_5.html/BI/23712/KBID/29159/DFF/d10-v21-t1-x1870166/SID/DFF *Pro Display XDR* Amazon https://amzn.to/4n5MjgV B&H https://bhpho.to/3UO3Eiw *Thunderbolt* CalDigit Thunderbolt 5 Hub https://amzn.to/4m38nI7 CalDigit Thunderbolt 4 Hub https://amzn.to/4guVoOt *Office* Dell U3225QE https://amzn.to/4k2aMSr LG DualUp https://amzn.to/4lEK6cg LG Vertical Mouse https://amzn.to/3GDHEmi LG MX Master Keyboard https://amzn.to/4d8Wi1r Desk Felt Pads https://amzn.to/4jhCKKe *CHAPTERS* 00:00 Introduction 01:04 Power-on 01:56 Size Why 32" Monitors https://youtu.be/EdcQW4WHYVE?si=zPkWFwGlEvr4OAhh 02:51 Resolution Dell 32" 4K https://youtu.be/t4KPrGjNlBg?si=dbvRbwx_uPkr_Iu5 03:51 Refresh Rate 04:26 Response Time 04:51 Brightness & HDR 06:25 Brightness Uniformity 07:11 Contrast Ratio 08:12 Glossy vs. Matte 09:13 Colors | Impressions 10:15 Colors | Off-Axis Shift 10:33 Viewing Angles 10:48 Colors | Specifications 10:58 Controls 12:02 Design 12:52 Integration with macOS 13:17 Connectivity 14:23 Ergonomics 15:04 Security 15:17 Windows Compatibility 15:37 Price 16:02 OLED Why I Abandoned OLED.. https://youtu.be/0bVXV_a5I5s 16:53 Conclusion 17:43 Thanks for watching! *SOCIAL* Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/ruslan.tulupov/ Twitter - https://twitter.com/RuslanTulupov Email - tulupov120101@gmail.com *YOUTUBE CHANNEL(S)* Cars, Home DIY https://youtube.com/@RuslanVideoFilms Tech DIY https://www.youtube.com/@RuslanTulupov *SEE MY OTHER VIDEOS* https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsM6d1ncFAHK15PAaEKsk_IGRGDUE2Cit https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsM6d1ncFAHJzDSsSBBDMmEL4kmWN3yQE https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsM6d1ncFAHJ9VlisT45SoUxKk1LY-776 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsM6d1ncFAHJDmg8qwih7qLhb7srMXaNA https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsM6d1ncFAHLl9ULvQgRgwTrkYlli8mlR https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsM6d1ncFAHJDMMwu7qpJ8huhmG_cRtp4 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsM6d1ncFAHIO-dux0PQQ5BksvnncK3D2 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsM6d1ncFAHIyhL3f3weKYDoo36ewTrF9 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsM6d1ncFAHLq2aZUNUDRMMXpE_hSAcce https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsM6d1ncFAHKHtsFyW4Jj2VKtAIQRClGl https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsM6d1ncFAHKo0fna7UckRf1XzipdqMW2 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsM6d1ncFAHKH6oxC3akLgkSlf7kFkgnI https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsM6d1ncFAHIi0F687GATslpMHUkmJVGo *MUSIC* Karl Casey @ White Bat Audio https://www.youtube.com/@UC_6hQy4elsyHhCOskZo0U5g

About This Video

In this video I do a layman’s comparison of the ASUS ProArt 6K (PA32QCV) versus Apple’s Pro Display XDR—aka me sounding incredibly spoiled while nitpicking two expensive screens. I go through the stuff that actually matters day to day: power-on speed, size, design, 6K sharpness, refresh rate/response time, brightness and HDR performance, contrast, coatings (glossy vs matte), color vibe, connectivity, ergonomics, and then the part everyone cares about—price. Both are 6K (6016 x 3384), and yes, 6K is leaps and bounds better than 4K. But side-by-side, the XDR looks sharper and more satisfying because the ProArt’s LuxPixel matte coating makes the image more “paperlike” at the cost of vividness. Where the XDR really justifies the extra cheddar is brightness, HDR, and contrast: 500 nits SDR, 1000 nits sustained HDR, 1600 nits peak, and that million-to-one contrast with 576 dimming zones. The ProArt is more affordable and absolutely wins on modern I/O (Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, DP 1.4, KVM, PiP/PbP), but my unit had brightness uniformity issues that were genuinely disorienting, so I’m not keeping it. If you do HDR video work, the XDR is the clear choice—stop the video and buy it. If you want 6K and great connectivity without paying XDR money, the ProArt is a compelling “value” play, even if it’s not truly competing at the top.
