In this live hang from Atascadero, I put two real-world jazz amp setups under the microscope: a Quilter and a Henriksen, both miked with Shure SM81 pencil condensers. I’m not doing a “spec sheet shootout” here—I’m listening for what matters when you’re actually playing jazz guitar: tone, clarity, and feel. I also run a direct signal, so you can hear the difference between going straight into the board and miking the cabinet, and how those choices change the way the guitar sits.
