Well, hello out there—this one is a live Jazz Guitar Hang from Atascadero, California, and I’m putting the spotlight on an Eastman AR372CE with P90s. I play it, I talk tone, and I get into the real-world stuff that matters: how the guitar feels under the hands, how quiet and usable the pickups are, and what it takes to set one of these up for serious jazz playing. I also do some Q&A and the usual hang-style detours—because if you’re not interacting, man, it’s a drag. I go through the specs (it’s basically in that ES-175 world: 16-inch lower bout, 24 3/4" scale, 1 3/4" nut, ebony board) and I explain what I actually changed to make it play the way I need it to play. I’m after low action with flatwounds, so I talk about grinding down the P90 risers, taking material off the bridge above the thumbwheels, and doing a tiny bit of nut work (carefully—because it’s easy to go too far). Then I A/B the sound direct, through a Henriksen, and through a Quilter, plus I play some fingerstyle so you can hear how fat those P90s can be in a jazz context.
