Welcome back to Day 180 of my Journey of an Eorzean Lifetime—still playing FFXIV for the first time in chronological, wibbly-wobbly time order, and today it’s the grand finale of the Patch 4.5 Hildibrand Stormblood Adventures. Before we even “pray return,” I’m in the Gold Saucer doing what I do best: gambling terribly, coping loudly, and pretending there’s no correlation between my confidence and my tragic gamba skills. We do get a win (money in the bank), we celebrate properly, and then Kikimo continues to be my actual nemesis because of course he does. Then the real shenaniganing begins: we roll up to Kugane Ohashi for a surprise duty and it turns into an 8-player community run against “Yojimbo”… except, plot twist that absolutely nobody could have seen coming (sure), it’s Greg. Yes, it’s Gilgamesh time. I’m tanking, I’m yelling, I’m eating eggs for power, and I’m accusing the man of stream sniping because he literally responds to what I said. We beat him, grab the achievement, take the mandatory group photo, and then the story whiplashes into the Wolf Burglar/Shigure situation—ritual suicide, distractions, and a whole lot of “no no no” as we realize there’s more going on with Master Aabono than just overpriced miracle meds and an unmarked satchel of white powder. Hildy content stays undefeated.
