About This Video

In this video I put three of the biggest action cams head-to-head to figure out which one actually makes sense for 2025: GoPro HERO 13 vs DJI Action 5 Pro vs Insta360 Ace Pro 2. I run them through the stuff that matters in the real world—stabilization on my motorbike (chin mount), then walking and running tests, plus screens, battery life, resolution, storage, UI, sensors/colour, microphones, night footage, and even zoom/cropping potential. Stabilization is basically brilliant on all three when I match settings (D-Warp so it’s not all bubbly), with the GoPro only just edging it. For screens, the Ace Pro 2 wins for me because the flip-up screen is genuinely useful, even if the little front screen doesn’t show a live feed. Battery and internal storage are where the Action 5 Pro punches hard (that built-in 47GB is a lifesaver when you forget an SD card), but the GoPro surprised me by winning the mic test on the bike with less wind and a more “basey” sound. My overall takeaway: I’m keeping the Ace, I’m sending the GoPro back, and the Action 5 Pro is still a seriously strong option—especially for night and practicality. I’ll be doing a follow-up motovlog because there’s more to dig into than I could fit in one comparison.
