In this video, I share 10 tips on how you can reduce condensation in your tent. The main idea is that you always have to reduce the humidity in the tent, as well as the temperature difference between inside and outside air. You do this by sleeping in warmer, less humid places, and adding more airflow to the tent to reduce humidity. ▼ THRU-HIKING POSTERS (MADE BY ME & MY GF) Shop hiking trail posters here ➜ https://trailgoals.com/ (10% discount code: oscarhikes) Instagram ➜ https://www.instagram.com/trail.goals/ ▼ GEAR SHOWN IN VIDEO (affiliate links) Outdoor Vitals Fortius 2P Ultralight Tent ➜ (Outdoor Vitals: https://www.avantlink.com/click.php?tool_type=cl&merchant_id=7e589116-9b06-4f1d-beee-aa18820b0454&website_id=00f5b60f-5b24-479f-ab2d-8d5328a2ac5a&url=https%3A%2F%2Foutdoorvitals.com%2Fproducts%2Ffortius-2p-trekking-pole-backpacking-tent) REI Flash Air 1 Ultralight Tent ➜ (Rei.com: https://www.rei.com/product/168564/rei-co-op-flash-air-1-tent) Bessport Lightweight 2p Tent ➜ (Amazon: https://amzn.to/3r773Zc) Outdoor Vitals CS40 Ultralight Backpack ➜ (Outdoor Vitals: https://www.avantlink.com/click.php?tool_type=cl&merchant_id=7e589116-9b06-4f1d-beee-aa18820b0454&website_id=00f5b60f-5b24-479f-ab2d-8d5328a2ac5a&url=https%3A%2F%2Foutdoorvitals.com%2Fproducts%2Fcs40-ultralight-backpack) Outdoor Vitals Stormloft 0F Quilt ➜ (Outdoor Vitals: https://www.avantlink.com/click.php?tool_type=cl&merchant_id=7e589116-9b06-4f1d-beee-aa18820b0454&website_id=00f5b60f-5b24-479f-ab2d-8d5328a2ac5a&url=https%3A%2F%2Foutdoorvitals.com%2Fproducts%2Fupdate-stormloft-0-30-f-down-topquilt-sleeping-bag) Nemo Tensor Insulated Sleeping Pad ➜ (Amazon: https://amzn.to/3RJhVw9 ) Nikwax Down Wash Direct ➜ (Amazon: https://amzn.to/3IDA1ds) Nikwax Down Proof ➜ (Amazon: https://amzn.to/49T9O6L) The study mentioned in the video: ➜ https://www.rhinologyjournal.com/Rhinology_issues/554.pdf ▼ TABLE OF CONTENTS 00:00 - Intro 00:21 - Tip 1 02:02 - Tip 2 04:01 - Tip 3 04:35 - TrailGoals 05:04 - Tip 4 05:32 - Tip 5 06:03 - Tip 6 06:28 - Tip 7 06:47 - Tip 8 07:13 - Tip 9 07:44 - Tip 10 ▼ FOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA https://www.instagram.com/oscarbrumelis/ https://www.tiktok.com/@oscarhikes ▼ AFFILIATE DISCLOSURE In some of our videos, we sometimes use affiliate links. About This Video

Condensation is basically what happens when cold tent fabric meets warm, humid air inside your shelter. In this video I break it down into the two levers you can actually control: the humidity inside the tent and the temperature difference between inside and outside. Less humidity + less temperature difference = less condensation. Simple idea, but it’s amazing how many people fight the symptoms instead of the cause. I go through 10 practical tips that actually work on trail. It starts with choosing the right shelter (double-wall vs single-wall), plus sizing and wall angle so you’re not rubbing your quilt or head against wet fabric. Then I get into campsite selection: trees create a slightly warmer, less humid microclimate; valleys are cooler and wetter; ridges are exposed and cold; and camping near water usually means more humidity. After that it’s all about airflow and habits—leave vestibules open when you can, don’t block the gap with your pack, pitch the tent correctly so vents actually vent, don’t cook inside, and don’t hang wet clothes in the tent. Finally, I cover “managing” condensation when you can’t eliminate it: guylines to reduce slack, waterproofing down so it doesn’t collapse if it gets damp, airing the tent out every morning, and using a small microfiber towel to wipe the leftovers. Also… if you’re in a single-wall tent and mouth breathing all night, what are you even doing bro?
