About This Video

In this video I’m giving you a wee tour of my daughters’ shared Montessori bedroom—Isla (4) and Iris (almost 2). As a Montessori homeschool family, independence was the priority, so I’ve set the room up as a real “YES” space: the girls can get in and out of bed themselves, choose their own clothes in the morning, and even access a potty if they need it at night. I also share how we kept everything minimalist and practical, without spending loads. I walk you through what we used before (a second-hand loft bed that helped us create our butterfly theme) and what we have now: a custom L-shaped house bed made by a local carpenter for a fraction of the cost. I asked for a very low base to keep it safe, and I show you the small details that make a big difference—little shelves for books and soft toys, IKEA mirrors and frames, fabric bunting, and a simple clothing setup using an IKEA Kallax “hack” with a curtain rod so the girls can independently pick outfits. I also share my practical sleep tips for a toddler in a bigger bed (comforter “sleeping bag” method plus a pool noodle under the sheet), and the bedtime tools we love like our Yoto, a Dome sound machine, and a non-leaky Munchkin 360 cup. If you want a separate video on how I got two little ones sleeping successfully in the same room (without formal sleep training), let me know.
