In this video I’m sitting down for my very first Montessori homeschool family Q & A, answering the questions I get most on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. I share how we handle holiday characters like Santa, the Easter bunny, and the tooth fairy (spoiler: we don’t do any of them), and how I try to navigate that respectfully in a very multicultural place like Dubai—without compromising on honesty with my girls. I also talk about the real-life side of homeschooling and motherhood: how I “get it all done” (I don’t), why my house isn’t sparkling clean, and how I prioritise my children over perfection. I explain how I involve Isla and Iris in practical life—laundry, meal prep, setting the table, and clean-up—because it builds skills and genuinely helps our home run. We chat about turn taking and sharing (no forced sharing here), screen time (we’re screen-free, with Skype calls as the exception), and what our daily rhythm looks like—from morning classroom time and work cycles to quiet time, afternoon outings, and evening reset. I also share my thoughts on homeschooling long-term: you don’t need qualifications to start, and no one knows and loves your child like you do—so you’re already their best teacher.
