This week was honestly one of the worst I’ve had in a long time. I started this vlog in the trenches—missing my dad heavy, crying nonstop, and just feeling like my brain was scrambled. So I did what I had to do: I left work, went to a park, literally touched some grass, brought my coffee and my book, and tried to breathe through the grief. Even in the middle of all that, God still found a way to remind me I’m seen, because I randomly won a SheaMoisture giveaway (and yes, there’s a camera in the box). I was gagged. As the days went on, I slowly started coming back to myself—little pick-me-ups like buying tulips, getting my tire patched, taking my vitamins, and doing a bit of a reset. I also got back into my cozy routines: reading (my Goodreads stats, my 30-book goal, and starting Someday Maybe), a little solo date with hibachi, and of course a quick Barnes & Noble run where I only got two books (which is growth, okay). And we did some real-life stuff too—trying the Biscoff Nothing Bundt Cake (rated it a solid 7), a little Pandora ring moment, and a Rue21 haul that had me leaving with a whole bag for basically $50. It’s a vlog, but it’s also real life: grief, soft moments, and me finding my way back.
