About This Video

Hey y’all—this video is a short and sweet Monday night wash day where I tested a true one-product wash and go using TGIN’s Curl Bomb Moisturizing Styling Gel. I’m basically spinning the block because I tried this gel before, but it was paired with TGIN’s green tea leave-in… and if you know, you know, that leave-in is not my fave. So this time I wanted to see what the gel can do on its own, on soaking wet hair, with my usual smoothing/light shingling technique (and yes, I’m always fighting for my roots). As I applied it, I noticed I needed a good amount (about 3 pumps per section) and it even kind of “foamed up” a little, which was interesting. Once dry, I wasn’t mad at the look at all—definition was there, shine was there, and the gel did what it claims: soft hold with minimal crunch (I only had a tiny bit since I used a lot). The trade-off is frizz, especially in my thicker/coilier bottom sections, and for me the hold isn’t strong enough to confidently take me through a full week. By day three, my hair was super soft and still looked pretty, but I’m not sold enough to repurchase. I do think it’s a solid option if you like softer hold, especially in winter or if you’re okay with refreshing/styling mid-week—and I’m curious to try it next with a mousse for extra hold.
