About This Video

In this video I’m doing a wash and go using Donna’s Recipe Sweet Potato Pie Extra Creamy Hair Cream and pairing it with the Wet Line Extreme Gel. I’ve tried this Donna’s cream before (more like a twisting cream situation), but this time I wanted to revisit it specifically as a leave-in because, for my hair, most creams without real hold end up working better that way. I also talked through the basics—price/size (6 oz, and I really wish it was at least 8), the strong cinnamon-vanilla scent, and how it applies as I’m coating my hair section by section. Once everything dried, the wet results looked promising—soft, shiny, and with a lot of definition at first. But by day three-ish (I did my hair Sunday and checked back in Wednesday), the definition on the underbelly was pretty much gone and it started giving that cotton-bally feeling, especially on the bottom. The top still looked better (my top is looser), but overall this combo was just okay for me. I don’t think the Donna’s cream is a bad product at all—I’m going to use it up—but I’m not impressed enough to repurchase, and I personally prefer thicker leave-ins/creams that give me more slip.
