One UI 8 is officially here, and in this video I’m breaking down what that rollout looks like and how my beta experience went on the Galaxy S25. It’s starting with the S25 series (and it should be hitting the Flip/Fold 7 lineup too), and then it’ll roll down to the S24 series, Z Flip 6, Fold 6, and so on. I jumped into the beta kind of mid-stream around beta 4/5, and I’ve got to say: beta software has gotten way more stable over the years. Performance felt basically the same, and that made it super comfortable to run day to day. Now, feature-wise, I’m keeping it real—One UI 8 feels more like a “One UI 7.5” than a massive new era of Samsung software. The stable update itself was around 550MB and didn’t come with a big laundry list of changes. But there are a few things worth talking about: Samsung being more attentive with fixes (especially the lock screen adaptive clock widget), plus some legit quality-of-life updates in core apps like Reminders and Calendar. Reminders has a new look with more granular to-do list options, categories, and better organization, and Calendar has some quicker input options that make scheduling faster. Overall, I appreciate the polish, but the smaller scale has me more excited for what One UI 9 could bring if Samsung goes bigger.
