In this video I’m breaking down One UI 8.5 Beta 3 for Galaxy devices and what actually changed now that I’ve had it on my Galaxy S25. I went straight into the Samsung Members app to see the Beta 3 notice (ending in ZZA3) and the main fixes Samsung is calling out: the lock screen clock display error, an issue with Favorites in the Phone app, and Now Briefing not displaying properly. I also show how I access Now Briefing through the widget, and yeah—mine was even recommending my own video back to me. I also tested the Gallery “Live effect” situation, because Beta 3 claims it improves screen lag when using it. I walk through how I use it (swipe up on a photo to get options like Remaster, Live effect, and Erase reflections), and the Live effect animation is working smoothly for me. The big one I’m watching is battery: Samsung says it fixed high power consumption when a specific app is running, and I’m hoping that means less drain—not just on the phone, but also on my Galaxy Ring and Buds 3 Pro, which were draining faster than normal on Beta 2. I close out by running through a stack of other Samsung app updates from December into early January and why the beta feels pretty stable right now.
