In this video I’m talking about my experience on the One UI 8 beta on the Galaxy S25. I jumped in on Beta 4 (as of July 30th), and by the time I filmed this it was mid-August with no new beta update yet. I’m guessing we might see one more—maybe two—before stable, and even with the delay rumors, Samsung still seems pretty in-step with Google since Android 16 hasn’t officially dropped yet either. The big thing I wanted to test was that new adaptive clock widget on the lock screen… and yeah, my S25 doesn’t have it. But I did find some tweaks I really like, like using the Effects option to blur my lock screen and home screen so widgets pop more—especially with my wallpaper aesthetic. The biggest real “One UI 8” change I’m noticing day-to-day is that widgets feel more refined and the font is bigger, which was honestly needed because some Samsung widgets have been way too tiny. Performance-wise, One UI 8 has been super smooth for me (I’m four betas in, so it feels close to a finished build). My main issue still isn’t One UI—it’s YouTube battery drain and random heating. Some days it’s perfect, other days the S25 has mood swings and just starts chewing through battery for no reason.
