Micah back with another video, and yeah—One UI 8 Beta 5 is out. A lot of people thought we were done after the last build, but I was kind of in-between on that because the Galaxy S25 series was still missing a couple things that other devices (even the S24) already had. This update is a big one too—about 1.2GB—so it’s not just a tiny security patch. It’s packed with bug fixes like hotspot issues, Quick Settings/notification overlap, Air Command exceptions, Secure Folder screen capture bugs, and even a weird 100x moon color post-processing issue. The main feature I was personally excited to finally test on the S25 is the Adaptive Clock widget on the lock screen. It’s that dynamic clock style that tries to “wrap” around objects in your wallpaper, and when it works, it looks really, really good. But it’s still beta behavior—on some wallpapers it’s consistent, and on others it doesn’t adjust correctly in real time, so expect some inconsistencies. I also break down what’s included in the August security patch (one critical, a ton of high severity fixes, plus Samsung-specific items including Galaxy Watch-related access control fixes). We’re getting close to stable, but Beta 5 still feels like Samsung tightening loose ends before that final stamp.
