In this video I’m checking back in on the Samsung Galaxy Ring about a year after it launched, and after roughly 6–7 months of me actually wearing it (March/April until now). I show you the wear and tear on mine—most of the marks stayed the same—and I break down what it’s been like using it day-to-day for fitness and sleep tracking. The big question: has it helped me not always need my Galaxy Fit3? For me, yes. I can wear the ring to the gym, wear it to sleep, or even pair it with the Fit3 and let them work together. Where the Galaxy Ring really shines is the core vitals in Samsung Health: energy score (built from sleep, heart rate, and stress), sleep tracking, HR/HRV trends, and even skin temperature changes. Battery life has been great too—about 5 to 7 days depending on how active I am. The main drawback is control: you can’t manually start workouts from the ring, and it leans more toward automatic walking/running detection than full workout tracking. I’m hoping Samsung adds gesture controls or improves Samsung Health (and maybe Galaxy Ring 2) so we can start exercises without needing another wearable. Overall, it’s a simple “put it on and let it track” device that’s been surprisingly versatile, especially for sleep and long-term trends.
