In this video I put the MONVICT hot glue gun through a real cardboard-crafting lens, and honestly… it’s a hot gluing beast for the price. You get dual temperature settings (60W and 100W), and I’ve noticed it can get hotter than a lot of hobby glue guns—which means you get a little more working time before the glue starts setting up. It also has a silicone guard around the nozzle that helps prevent burns and makes cleanup easier, plus a silicone intake inside that can help if you ever end up fighting a jam. The feature that surprised me most is the upright stand. It keeps the gun so close to level that it almost completely eliminates dripping, and it even doubles as a tool to help swap the replaceable screw-on nozzle tips (I learned the hard way after scratching up my nozzle with regular pliers). That said, I do get a bit nitpicky: I’d prefer wings to help prevent backflow/jams, a better “normal” base when the upright stand is removed (it gets tippy), and a larger trigger for a gun this size. If those aren’t deal breakers, this is an almost-perfect affordable option—otherwise I point you to my long-time favorite Gorilla Glue gun that fixes those issues (but loses some of MONVICT’s cool features).
