About This Video

In this video I put the TRACK Stealth Mode Hybrid (SMH) on the lane and talk through why this one surprised me—in a good way. We tested at Royal Crest Lanes in Lawrence, Kansas on Kegel Chromium, and I watched Angel get lined up with a layout that leans a little strong (which is fine, because she doesn’t get a ton on it). The big headline: this is a strong shiny symmetric that doesn’t act like your typical “skid/flip and pray” pearl. Once you realize you can just float it and get out of its way, it starts looking like an “everyone ball.” On paper it shares the same super-strong symmetric core as the Stealth Mode, but the cover is the story: HK22C Super Response (the Criterion Hybrid cover), and it’s an absolute monster. The shape is more arcy, directional, and “climbing”—it gets traction through the oil, revs up, stabilizes, and then makes a confident move when it sees friction. I called it the strongest shiny symmetric on the market right now, and it can legitimately compete with some medium-strength asyms. I also break down where it fits (medium-heavy with light transition is money), who it matches up with (speed dominant and/or rev-challenged bowlers will love it), and why your biggest mistake with this ball is usually operator error—overthrowing it or sending it too far right. Release date is February 19th, and overall I’ve got this one living in that “blue-collar, keeps getting the job done” category that’s going to build a cult following.
