About This Video

In this video I put the Roto Grip Gremlin Tour-X under the microscope and give you the full breakdown: tech specs, on-lane reaction, comparisons, where it fits in an arsenal, and then my ratings panel. We tested at Royal Crest Lanes in Lawrence, Kansas on Kegel Chromium, with Tobias using his standard test layout so you can actually trust the ball-to-ball differences. I also walk through what kind of bowler this is for, what zones it plays from, and why it’s more than just “another tour-ish piece.” The Gremlin Tour-X is a Tour ASIM with a low RG, medium-low diff, and medium-low int diff—so you get that fast-revving, controlled tour shape, but with more overall strength than a symmetric tour ball. The VR1 Hybrid at 4000 makes it cleaner and more responsive than you’d expect, and honestly it’s probably the sharpest Tour ASIM on the market while still staying round and continuous. My key takeaways: it’s surprisingly sharp but still defined and controllable, it’s basically an Ion Pro 2.0 (closer to the Ion Pro Solid / Black Widow Tour V1 family), and it’s a true “middle of the bag anchor” that covers a ton of ground. I’ve got basically no cons here—this is a blue-collar ball that just does what it says.
