In this video I put the SWAG Serpent Hybrid on the lane at Royal Crest Lanes in Lawrence, Kansas, on the Keel Chromium challenge pattern. I kept the layout pretty normal and left the cover at the box 4000 grit, then focused on what actually matters: where it wants to live on the lane and how forgiving it is when you don’t execute. The headline is simple—this thing is a pocket magnet in the third-arrow/track-area zone, and it’s one of those “stand where you normally stand and let it work” balls. Reaction-wise, the Serpent Hybrid checks a ton of boxes for me: plug-and-play, arcy/defined/climbing, and it has that big Craze Tour Solid vibe—just more ball. It’s extremely similar to the Black Widow 3.0 (the original orange/brown one) in feel: clean enough up front, firm and strong downlane, but not super sideways. The biggest takeaway is how SWAG pieces handle friction and transition—no hook-stop, no weird over/under—just that consistent climb through the pins. Where it surprised me was versatility on the fresh. I had two really strong zones, but the straightest and deepest zones were basically a no-go unless you’re naturally straighter or you’ve got enough transition to help it.
