Swag’s Craze Tour Pearl drops February 17th, and in this video I go crazy in-depth on why this is the point where you actually have to take Swag seriously. I tested it at Royal Crest Lanes in Lawrence, Kansas on Kegel Chromium, straight out of the box with my standard symmetric layout. The big story isn’t the core (it’s the same familiar Craze Tour platform), it’s the cover upgrade: AP26 (Adhesion Promoter 26). That additive helps the cover read the lane stronger and more consistently in both the oil and the dry, and for me the difference was pretty obvious right away. Reaction-wise, my key notes are: surprising strength, “tumbly/chuggy climbing,” and big-bro hooking. From straighter angles it can feel earlier and heavier rolling than the Tour Solid, but when I move left it’s cleaner and slower and doesn’t cover boards as effortlessly. The selling point is control—this is the kind of shiny tour symmetric that blends wet/dry when the lanes get spotty in transition. I’ve already had real-world success with it in scratch league (228 and 247) because it kept me in play when things got weird. At $120, it’s a ridiculous bang-for-your-buck league piece. It’s sharp enough to punch, smooth enough to be controllable, and it fits a wide range of styles—especially if you want that IQ/Hyper Venom-ish lane control without paying premium pricing.
