This is a full in depth review for Storm's new Bionic bowling ball. I'll give you all the details on the ball, talk at length about how it reacts, what other balls it compares to, where it fits in an arsenal, and then rate and rank it in several different categories. It was part of Brandon Bonta's historic win at the Player's Championship including a 300 in the title match, but being good for a pro on tougher conditions is one thing, will it strike for you in league?? About This Video

In this video I put Storm’s new Bionic under the microscope—what it is on paper, what it actually does on the lane, and who it’s going to help (or overwhelm). We’re at Royal Crest Lanes in Lawrence, Kansas on Kegel Chromium, and Zach is the one throwing it. I go over the big story here: the new Torsion AI core (a symmetric take on the ION Max idea) paired with NRG Hybrid, which immediately stood out to me because it’s the same cover family as the original Physix. Reaction-wise, the Bionic is visually impressive and kind of sneaky strong. It’s clean enough to get down the lane, but it still “pulls up” and goes through the pins really well—strong shape without feeling uncontrollable. The easiest comparison is that it’s basically a hybrid Vengeance with less surface: the Vengeance is earlier and smoother, and when that starts reading too soon, you can step into the Bionic to stay in the same strength neighborhood while getting more length and a faster response. I also talk arsenal fit (it’s a two-ball pairing with Vengeance, not a three-ball), who matches up best (speed dominant bowlers), and what to expect on league vs tougher conditions. It’s already proven it can win on the big stage, but the real question is whether it’s going to strike for you—and I think for most league bowlers it’s a great first ball out of the bag.
