On November 28th, 2025, I got scammed — and somehow it turned into me building Sammy a nearly $20,000 “overpowered video editing PC on the planet.” The deal was simple: a dollar for every new subscriber a short brought in… and it worked. So yeah, he got the PC, but I got to pick the parts, and I made sure a chunk of the budget went toward making sure he’s actually getting 100% utilization out of it. Also: he had to help build it, which was… an experience. Sweaty hands, expensive components, and a whole lot of “why isn’t it going in?” We went Threadripper PRO 9975WX because, surprisingly, the PugetBench numbers say it’s basically peak for video editing: 32 cores that boost high is a great mix of fast cores and enough cores. Then we paired it with a comically stacked ASUS Pro WS WRX90E-SAGE SE board, 128GB of ECC memory, a 4TB Samsung 9100 PRO, and the absolute star of the show: the RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell with 96GB of VRAM — a $9,500 workstation GPU that is hilariously wasted on Sammy. We even had to BIOS flashback to get it to POST, then discovered part of his “slow PC” problem was… he was editing on 1 gig instead of 10 gig. And yes, I spent leftover budget on a UniFi camera so I can yell at him when he plays Minecraft instead of working.
