Winsor & Newton's cold press paper is durable, takes layers and lifting well. It has a rougher texture, worse for drawing detail, but works magic with granulating paints

Review Superior master level solid water color set (also rebranded as Artsy) compare to Professional Paul Rubens. Swatch, mermaid cat (mercat or purr-maid?) art demo and gritty pigments. ↓ SHOW MORE for art supply links and other info! ↓ Superior's master level solid water color 48 pan set has a lot of problems, so I do not recommend it. I had to try quite hard to make this set work for me. As a side note, in general if you see artwork made with a set that looks good, it is not always a good indicator of paint quality but level of care involved on the artists end. This is why I always go through swatching on dry, wet, opacity, layering and flow checks on top of doing art demos for my reviews for the most complete picture.
