All right, y’all—this week I’m finally back on the 5x8 tiny camper build, and it’s time to talk power… LOTS of it. I’ve been stuck inside for a few weeks because it’s been crazy cold, so I’ve basically been collecting parts and piling them on the table until I could get back out here and actually lay everything out. In this video I walk you through the whole off-grid power plan: two Watt Cycle 12V 314Ah Bluetooth batteries (628Ah total), a pure sine wave inverter with a transfer switch, shore power hookup, onboard charging, and the solar gear that’s going to keep this thing topped off when I’m out in the middle of nowhere. I also show some updates on the build itself—like the front “Apache-style” box I built and had Linex coated to hide the air conditioner hanging out of the nose. That box is watertight, looks clean, and it’s going to let me hide a diesel tank later for the diesel heater. Inside, I’m still in the mock-up stage because I hit a little hiccup: I need to order the water tank first so I can lock in where everything mounts and where the fill port can go. And yeah… I picked up a new toy—a QIDI Q2 3D printer—so I can start making custom parts and a clean control panel to mount all my switches and monitors in one spot instead of having stuff look gaudy all over the wall.
