In this Zero Skill Armor episode I show you the simplest and most effective way to paint dark green armour with amazing results in just three steps (plus a couple of optional finishing details if you want to push it). We start from a Wraithbone spray basecoat—yes, you might still see some of that awful blue plastic underneath, but it’s not a big deal. If it sits in the lower parts and recesses it can actually help the final look, so don’t panic. Step one is a 1:1 mix of Twilight Rose and Express Medium, applied section by section and left to pull into the recesses to create a smooth pink gradient. Step two is a Dawn Yellow drybrush (I like my Dark Angels with a yellowy highlight, but you can go grey/white for a different vibe). Then step three is the “magic”: Monastic Green thinned with Express Medium—my favourite mix is 3 parts Monastic Green to 2 parts medium—used like a careful filter so it doesn’t pool. The yellow becomes your highlight, the pink deepens the shadows, and you get a rich, punchy green with almost no effort. If you want to elevate it, I add Mood Green edge highlights and then a final 1:1 Mood Green + Dawn Yellow spot highlight on the front-facing areas for that extra pop—perfect for HQs when you want quality without losing speed.
