The Rubicon’s push-button sway bar disconnect is awesome… right up until it fails and you’re staring at that flashing dash light while the Jeep feels all over the road. In this video I walk through exactly how I fixed my JK Rubicon sway bar disconnect issue without dropping Mopar money. I priced the “correct” fix: the factory module is a little over $3,200 in parts alone, then you’ve still got install and programming—basically flirting with $4,000. That’s just not happening for most of us. So I show you the $50 manual replacement I found that lets you keep the Rubicon’s two-piece sway bar setup, but eliminates the electronics completely. I explain how the factory module works (two sway bar halves joined by a pin), pull the skid plate, unplug and remove the dead module, and bolt in the manual unit using the factory mounting points. After that, it’s simple: twist it tight to lock the sway bar for street stability, and loosen it until it clicks to disconnect for off-road articulation. I also talk about why I’m leaving the skid plate off for easier access, and what you can do about the flashing light (dealer can program it out).
