All right guys—today I’m finally showing you the big 2026 project I’ve been teasing: I picked up a 1983 military M1101A trailer (yeah, it’s still wearing the original military tires) and we’re turning it into a one-off, “ultimate overland companion” trailer. But here’s the twist: I’m not building it for me. I’m building it for you, with you. I want this thing to cover the stuff that’s always missing out on the trail—real comfort in winter and summer, stable towing on-road and off-road, lightweight where it matters, and actually functional beyond just “throw a rooftop tent on it and call it done.” The entire build is happening on Patreon—not YouTube—because I want the input to come from people who actually care about overlanding and want to participate, not random comment-section chaos. You’ll help decide the big stuff: tent style, sleeping setup, kitchen layout, propane vs diesel vs electric, solar/shore power, even things like color scheme and wheels/tires. Chris and I will handle the non-negotiables for safety and legality, and we’re already planning upgrades like ditching the military axle/bolt pattern and moving to an independent off-road suspension and a 360° rotating hitch.
