What do Jeeps 2 Digit Codes like JK, JL, JT, XJ, YJ or TJ mean?

I hear several times people stop me when I say terms like JK or TJ or JT, because not everyone understands where these terms came from and what they mean in relation to our Jeeps. So I decided to break it down to a simpler way of understanding why these are used, and what they really mean.
