About This Video

In this one, we did something I’ve honestly wanted to see for a long time: a real-world race between three very different air compressors to air up Jeep tires. We used Steven’s Gladiator with 37s, flattened three tires all the way down to 0 PSI, and then raced an onboard ARB Twin (the “over $1,000 installed” setup), my tried-and-true Smittybilt High Output that I’ve run for years, and a $100 Amazon no-name twin compressor that looked way too good on paper to ignore. Goal was simple: get back to 35 PSI as fast as possible. We even reset and swapped which compressor went to which wheel because I messed up a valve the first time and Steven (rightfully) called foul—so we ran it again as one continuous shot to keep it honest. The result surprised me: the $100 Amazon twin hit “35” first on the dash, and when we checked with a tire gauge it was actually around 37.5 PSI. The ARB was right behind at about 32.5 PSI, and my Smittybilt was way back at about 25.5 PSI in the same time window. Takeaway? Specs don’t always tell the whole story, and value isn’t as clear-cut as “buy the most expensive” or “buy the biggest CFM number.”
