This video is a compilation of the off-road moments that flat-out changed our lives in less than three years—clips pulled from my Off-Roading 101, Advanced 102, Adventure 101, and Overlanding 101 classes. We debuted it at the Tread Off-Road Expo in St. George, Utah, and I wanted to share it because it shows what matters to me most: real people gaining real confidence on real terrain. You’ll hear directly from students about what surprised them—how deep we go into the details, how we practice spotting, and how different sand, rock, hills, and ledges all require different decisions. I also hit on something I care about a lot: responsibility. We don’t need a bunch of yahoos out there tearing up trails and trashing campsites—this is a privilege, and I want us to raise the bar. Along the way you’ll see the reality of off-roading too, including the occasional “welcome to the club” moment like a sidewall getting cashed and having to swap a tire on the trail.
