About This Video

I’ll be honest: I hate social media. Not because people can’t ask questions, but because anybody can jump in, play “expert,” and hand out terrible advice with a ton of confidence. In this video I explain the real reason this channel exists, and it goes back to one Facebook post that absolutely triggered me. A Jeep owner with a 3.8L V6 asked a simple, honest question: “Is a $1,300 rear main seal repair fair, and is this a common issue?” The top “popular” answer wasn’t helpful—it was basically “your engine is a joke, do an LS swap, you’re an idiot.” That kind of nonsense is exactly what I built Jeeping for Beginners to get away from. I’ve got 25+ years around the automotive world, I’m an ASE Certified mechanic, and I spent close to a decade working near/directly with Fiat Chrysler and the Jeep organization. So my goal here is simple: give real, non-sarcastic answers that actually match the question being asked. Not “throw it away and buy something else,” not “spend $20–$25k on a swap,” but “here’s what’s going on, here’s what it takes, and yes—there’s usually a solution.” I also talk about how this grew into hands-on and online training, because some things you only learn by actually putting your Jeep in 4WD and feeling it for the first time.
