In this video I review the VSONIC Iceberg, a single dynamic driver IEM that was sent to me by a shop on AliExpress. There isn’t much info out there on this set, so I wanted to give you a solid, honest take like I always do—no slop, no paid takes. I go over the build and accessories first: the shells feel “okay” (not tank-like, but not flimsy either), the design is actually pretty nice, and the semi-flat 2-pin connector is a little unique. You only get one set of tips, but the felt pouch is genuinely cool, and if you get the free gift you can end up with two cables, including a USB-C cable with a mic. Sound-wise, this is where the Iceberg falls apart for me. Vocals are recessed, the mids feel dry, and it’s not what I’d call a high-resolution, detail-forward set. Bass and treble are basically “acceptable,” and the upper treble can be nice, but the presence/ear gain region feels like it’s basically gone, which makes the whole thing feel kind of dead. I show graphs to explain what I’m hearing, compare it to sets like the TruthEar Hexa and even mention how it reminds me of odd tunings like the Softears Studio 2. My bottom line: with EQ it can be workable, and the colorways are the main appeal, but stock tuning is one of the worst I’ve heard and I don’t recommend buying it unless you specifically want something like this.
