About This Video

In this video I’m talking about the iFi GO blu air — a $129 Bluetooth dongle DAC that iFi sent me. It launched in 2025 and it’s basically the more affordable successor to the older GO blu line, so I spend a lot of time on what you actually get for the money: the build, the clip, the little pouch, the volume wheel, and the side button that lets you toggle XBass, XSpace, or both. It’s a simple device, but the “toy factor” is real because you can change the flavor quickly without opening an app. I also go through what I personally want in a “perfect” dongle DAC: a digital volume display, a great knob (this has it), inline mic support, pass-through charging, 3.5 and 4.4 outputs, strong measurements, Bluetooth, and even stuff like phone-mounting or a memory card option. The GO blu air hits a lot of those wants (not all), and I end up recommending it because the feature set is unique, it’s super light/portable, and it’s powerful enough to run some over-ear headphones. I also explain my broader take: DAC/amps matter, but headphones matter way more—feature set should drive upgrades, not hype.
