About This Video

In this Legendary Series episode, I’m talking about the Dunu SA6 MK2—an IEM that’s kind of “older” in today’s IEM world, but still widely available and still talked about like it’s a reference. This specific unit is on loan from Audio Amigo Reviews (shout out to Omar), and I walk through the build, accessories, and that classic Dunu presentation: great packaging, a nice (slightly oily) cable with clear L/R markings, and the tuning switch that’s better handled with the tool rather than your fingers. Sound-wise, the SA6 MK2 is what I’d call anti-meta: warm-tilted, coherent, and very competent, but also a bit laid back where I personally want more bite. With the bass switch off, I think the tonality is at its best—fast, textured BA bass with good extension and rumble. Flip the switch on and you get more body and heft, but it also makes the mid-treble feel even more recessed, and that’s where I start missing energy and attack. I also pull up graphs and compare it to sets I enjoy more around this price—like Dunu’s own 142/242, plus other options that bring more presence and treble excitement. The SA6 MK2 isn’t “bad” at all, but at its asking price, I don’t think it’s the move for most people today unless you specifically want that smooth, inoffensive, warm-leaning presentation.
