In this video I’m talking about the LETSHUOER Ember, a $500 planar IEM, and the big question everyone’s going to have: is it actually good, or is it just expensive and weird? This unit was a loan from Audio Amigo Reviews (I’m sending it back), so this is straight impressions—no paid takes. I start with build: it’s their familiar metal shell with a glossy finish, a faceplate I genuinely like, flat 2-pin, multiple vents, and no issues with tips slipping. The included puck case is the same style I’ve seen on cheaper sets, and the cable is super thin but has weighty, nice-feeling ends—though it doesn’t lay flat and the chin slider feels like an afterthought. Sound-wise, the Ember is a “bass head level” set—past “a lot of bass” and into “almost insane.” The bass rumbles and hangs around too long, with a lot of midbass that can husk up vocals and make them feel recessed and kind of muffled. At the same time, there’s recessed pin gain/treble presence but a ton of air/extension up top, which gives certain tracks (like electric guitars and detail-heavy music) a glassy shimmer that can be fun. I go over graphs and comparisons (S15, S12, S12 Ultra, etc.), and my takeaway is simple: it’s not bad, but it’s not an all-rounder, and I’d recommend other LETSHUOER sets—especially the S12 Ultra—over it for most people.
