About This Video

In this video I cover the Tipsy M3—what it is, how it’s built, and why it ended up not working for me even after giving it real time. Mine was sent out by Tipsy with basically no packaging, so I’m being extra transparent: what you see is what you get. I talk fit (it’s not super comfortable for my ears), the QDC-style connection (kinda annoying), and why I ended up using Azla SednaEarfit Baroque-style tips to help seal and stabilize it. The cable is actually nice and feels premium, with a working metallic chin slider, but the overall experience for me comes down to sound. Sound-wise, the M3 is one of those colored sets that just hits my personal “no” zones. It has warmth and a big bass shelf, but the mids don’t feel clean, and the treble has two peaks that bother me a lot—around 4k and 7–8k—which makes it come off harsh, bright, and kind of nasally. I show the graphs, compare it to other Tipsy models, and explain why the Tipsy M1 is the one I’d recommend from their lineup. I also share the EQ approach I used to tame those spicy areas, because with EQ it does improve—but at $200, I don’t think it should need that much fixing.
