In this video I review the KBEAR Voyages SR8 (1DD + 3BA) around the $100 mark, and I go through the whole deal: build, accessories, sound, graphs, and where it lands on my ranking philosophy. Keep Hi-Fi sent this one out as a sample, and I’ll always be straight with you—no paid takes. Build-wise it’s a comfortable shell with a metal nozzle, a nice anti-tragus catch, flat 2-pin connectors for easy cable swaps, and clear left/right markings. The cable is actually solid for the price (blue/red channel indicators), but the chin slider is pretty loose. Accessories are healthy: multiple tip sets, a cleaning brush, and a basic but useful case. Sound is where I’m mixed. The bass is controlled, punchy, deep, and snappy—honestly, it can sound fantastic on electric guitars and certain instrumentals. But for my ears it leans into that warm + bright “audiophile tune” that isn’t super approachable: mids can come off a bit hissy/bright over longer sessions, and the treble has a spicy 8k situation plus a lot of air that feels a bit excessive. On graphs you can see the warmth, the mid dip around ~600, and that elevated mid-treble/8k/air. I don’t think it’s unlikable, but at the price I’d rather point most people toward sets like the KBEAR Turbilllon Pro, KB08 Mirage, or even something like the Cadenza 2 depending on what you want.
