In this video I review the KBEAR (yeah, I know it might be “KB ear,” but K Bear is way more fun to say) Mirage KB08, a $169 IEM with a 1DD + 1BA + 2 micro planar driver setup. I go over the build first—this is a really nice-looking, sturdy resin shell, and I love that you can actually see the big dynamic driver inside. The faceplate looks great, the shell is smooth with no sharp edges, and it’s comfortable. Accessories are solid too: you get four sets of tips (impressive at this price), a simple but functional zipper case with a pouch and cloth, and a totally fine 3.5mm cable with a working chin slider. Sound-wise, I’m a massive fan of this set for the money. The tuning lands in a balanced U-shape / slightly L-shaped vibe with a satisfying bass shelf that’s impactful, textured, and bloat-free—no bleeding into the mids. Mids are clean, natural, and forward with good string/piano texture and decay. My main caveat is a bit of “bite” and an 8k-ish spike that can come across slightly harsh on plucks, so I show the graph and share an EQ that pulls 8k down and tucks 200Hz a touch. Overall, this is the best KBEAR I’ve heard, and it gets a strong recommendation from me.
