In this video I’m painting Greyfriars Kirk in Edinburgh in watercolour, and the whole point is to keep it as simple as I can. I’m not trying to overwork every stone or window—just a clear read of the building, a believable light, and enough contrast to make the kirk sit properly in the scene. I focus on big shapes first and then tighten things up where it actually matters, rather than fiddling everywhere. I also explain how I’m handling the painting sales going forward.
